The Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center provides an immersive, hands-on training experience designed to prepare fellows for leadership in high-risk obstetrics. Our graduates can handle difficult cases of the mother, fetus​ and obstetrics. They can also lead care teams and work in academic or leadership roles.

Tufts Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center in the heart of downtown Boston. Fellows treat complex patients from Boston as well as patients transferred from surrounding hospitals in the community and tri-state area. The high-acuity and diverse patient population ensures that fellows gain rich clinical experience and exposure to a wide range of obstetric challenges.

Program goals

Our fellowship is designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge​ and confidence to excel in maternal fetal medicine. Fellows will:

• Deliver full-scope high-risk obstetric training, preparing fellows to manage complex maternal, fetal​ and obstetric cases independently.
• Build expertise in prenatal ultrasound, including image acquisition, interpretation​ and counseling on anomalies and genetic syndromes.
• Ensure proficiency in prenatal diagnostic procedures and interventions.
• Support fellows in developing a clinical or research niche, with robust mentorship and opportunities for scholarly productivity.
