About me
Biography

Tim Laux, MD MPH, completed medical school at the University of Pittsburgh and subsequently Internal Medicine residency at Washington University in St. Louis/Barnes Jewish Hospital. Thereafter, he completed a global health equity fellowship (the HEAL Initiative) at the University of California San Francisco, splitting time between rural India and the Navajo (Diné Nation) while completing his MPH.  He enjoyed this work so much he continued splitting time between these two nations until the COVID-19 pandemic made this no longer practically possible. His pandemic experiences convinced him to pursue pulmonary critical care training despite being a little older than average. He continues to be a small part of a research collaborative focused on preventing TB deaths in critically ill TB patients in south India. In the future, he hopes to return to similar lower resource settings with his new clinical skills. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son.

Career Interests

Perhaps return to the Indian Health Service (IHS) in the southwestern USA or return to working overseas (India) as I have done previously.
