Chief Residents

Boston is a charming, walkable city that feels manageable in size while still offering a wide variety of things to do. It is also an excellent home base for traveling both within the United States and internationally.

The people and the strong sense of community. What makes the residency program special is the supportive culture created by the residents, staff, attendings and fellows. Everyone is approachable and welcoming, and there is a shared sense that we belong to a community working toward a common goal.

I love living right near the water and having great proximity to the mountains for hiking and skiing. 

The close-knit community! The residents are great, and we are so fortunate to have so many of our residents stay on as fellows and hospitalists, but we also have amazing interprofessional relationships with pharmacy, case management, and nursing.

It’s been fantastic to live in such a walkable city that has easy access to the outdoors. Throughout residency I was able to take weekend trips to Maine, the Cape, NYC, and the White Mountains, all while still enjoying city living in Boston! 

I really love how close our program is; even after a full day of work, residents are still going out for dinner together.

I love that Boston has such a great balance of city and nature. There are so many unique neighborhoods to explore, great walking/bike paths along the Charles, the ocean nearby, and the ability to find beautiful nature escapes in just about any direction. 

The people are so grounded and supportive. Even amidst such a busy and exciting academic environment, everyone in the hospital feels very dedicated to building a strong sense of community – it's no wonder why so many people choose to stay!
