We value primary care at Tufts Medical Center and prioritize primary care education for our residents. Each resident has a continuity clinic consisting of their own panel of patients. They work collaboratively with an assigned faculty member who is their dedicated preceptor for all three years of residency.
All clinics are either at Tufts Medical Center Primary Care Boston or Tufts Medical Center Primary Care Quincy. Each resident has one dedicated primary care preceptor for all three years.
The Boston practice is our onsite primary care practice at the hospital, while our Quincy site is a community-based clinic that is affiliated with the hospital.
Clinic services
Our clinic is a large practice serving a very diverse patient population with access to services including nursing, case management, addiction psychiatry, social work, pharmacy and community health workers.
Structure
Residents have eight weeks a year of concentrated primary care under our modified 2+2 model in addition to continuity clinics during elective rotations. Residents do not have clinics during ward rotations.

In addition to being a site for continuity clinic, our Quincy site is also available for second- and third- year residents to rotate at for electives to learn how primary care is delivered in a community-based clinic.
