How to Apply

Applying to the Tufts Medical Center hematology + oncology fellowship program

The Tufts Medical Center Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program participates in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). All applications are processed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

Application requirements

Along with your ERAS application, please submit:

  • Three letters of recommendation (one must be from your current residency program)
  • Board scores
  • A personal statement

While we give preference to applicants who signal our program, we also carefully consider candidates who do not.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must have an MD, DO, MD/PhD or DO/PhD degree and have completed at least three years of internal medicine training at an accredited U.S. or Canadian residency program (two years for “short track” candidates). Candidates are expected to take the Internal Medicine board exam in the summer of their first fellowship year.

A passing score on USMLE Step 1 or Step 2 CK is required for U.S. MD, DO and international medical graduates (IMGs).

Interview process

Each application is thoroughly reviewed. Selected candidates are invited to interview, meet faculty and staff, and tour Tufts Medical Center facilities.
