About me
Biography

I graduated from the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago, where I was born and raised. I completed my Internal Medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, followed by a General Cardiology fellowship at UMass Chan Baystate Medical Center in western Massachusetts. My clinical interests include complex coronary disease, hemodynamics, and mechanical circulatory support devices. Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through working out, hiking, and playing soccer.

About me
Biography

I graduated from University of Medical Sciences and Technology in Khartoum, Sudan. Went to Washington DC for residency at George Washington University and spent some time teaching MD-PhD students between Harvard and MIT. I am interested in Interventional Cardiology with focus in mechanical support after Anterior MI and biomarkers in Acute Coronary Syndrome and Heart failure. I enjoy exploring the world of Artificial Intelligence and technology in clinical practice. During my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding and playing tennis. I am a Real Madrid fan.

Chief fellow spotlight: Dr. Rachel Goodman (2025-26)

We are excited to introduce Dr. Rachel Goodman as our Chief Fellow for the 2025-26 academic year. Dr. Goodman is a key contributor to CardioNerds and brings a passionate commitment to fellow education and mentorship. Her goals as chief fellow include:

  • Supporting professional development through tailored opportunities in cardiology subspecialties
  • Enhancing clinical and research expertise among fellows
  • Fostering a culture of inclusivity, teamwork and individualized growth within our fellowship community

Dr. Goodman’s leadership strengthens our program’s collaborative spirit and commitment to nurturing future leaders in cardiology.
