Content validity: The Delphi technique was used to identify the words for the REALM-R adapted for the South African context. A modified Delphi-technique was used to obtain the judgement of a group of experts for the purpose of making a decision. Using the Delphi-technique facilitated the reaching of a consensus among experts who have different views and perspectives. The technique enables group problem-solving by using a process of problem definition, discussion, feedback, and revision (Modified Delphi Technique). The Delphi technique was modified for this study as 2 panels were used. The Adaptation panel, chosen to change the American words to words more suitable for the South African context, was together in one room and the various rounds of data gathering occurred in a single meeting. The second panel, the Validation panel, a larger panel that included all the members of the Adaptation panel, was contacted via email.
