About This Measure

About the Validation of this Measure

Additional Notes: Self-evaluation tool based on 18 discussion points, distributed on six domains. Evaluation of practices about what organization is doing well/could improve on in relation to a statement. Performance for each statement scored on a 0 to 4 scale. Developed from the Org-HLR tool, which has 110 items items distributed on 22 subdomains. For the OS! Tool, combined specific Org-HLR items within each subdomain to create less statements about health literacy responsiveness. Discussion framed less rigorously than in Org-HLR to allow for more dynamic, open-ended, and locally focused dialogue. The OS! Approach as a whole consists of reflection about health literacy and its applications, the self-assessment of organizational health literacy responsiveness, identification of improvement ideas, and prioritizing improvement ideas to be implemented. A revised version of the OS! tool is supposed to be released in fall 2025.
