Content validity: Two professional translators translated the English DNT-15 into classical Arabic. The Arabic version was reviewed by bilingual investigators and a diabetes educator before being back translated to English and reviewed for consistency. Content validity was evaluated through the content validity ratio and content validity index. The Arabic DNT-15 was pilot tested among 15 diabetes patients to evaluate clarity of the scale. Finally, 17 bilingual members of the general public were asked to complete both the English and Arabic versions of the scale consecutively.
