Tufts MC Social Worker Runs Marathon for Dad's Second Chance

In the fall of 2021, Katie had just begun a new position as a Clinical Social Worker in Tufts Medical Center’s Emergency Department. Less than two months later, Katie’s father Jim drove himself to his local emergency room and was diagnosed with myocarditis, an infection of the heart. While some patients with myocarditis fight off the infection, Jim took a turn for the worse and was transported by ambulance to Tufts MC.

EpicCare Link is an online tool provided by Tufts Medicine that allows community physicians to connect with Tufts Medicine’s Epic electronic health record systems. Physicians can view important information about their patients' care, including hospitalizations, specialist referrals and real-time clinical data. 

It is an easy-to-use, intuitive, web-based application that provides convenient access to patient data. It fully complies with state and federal regulations for releasing Protected Health Information (PHI). 

EpicCare Link is an online tool for connecting physicians and their staff to Tufts Medicine resources and patient information in a secure manner.
