Lowell General Now a Center of Excellence in Four Areas of Minimally Invasive Surgery

December 3, 2021

For patients facing minimally invasive surgery, Lowell General Hospital is proven to offer excellence.

The Surgical Review Corporation now recognizes Lowell General as a certified Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Minimally Invasive Urology, adding to our organization’s previous designations in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery.

The Center of Excellence program was developed to recognize surgeons and facilities worldwide performing minimally invasive procedures and achieving defined standards for patient safety and care quality.

To earn these designations, surgeons and hospitals must partner together and demonstrate a cross-organizational commitment to the highest standards of minimally invasive surgical care.

Surgical Review Corporation is a nonprofit, patient safety organization that develops and administers best-in-class accreditation programs for medical professionals, surgeons, hospitals and freestanding outpatient facilities throughout the world.

Data, provided by program participants, is used to determine which treatments achieve the best outcomes. This information enables clinicians, patients, payors and policymakers to make informed decisions that improve health care delivery.
