Vascular neurology fellowship in Boston at Tufts Medical Center for stroke + cerebrovascular training

The Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center is a one-year ACGME-accredited program designed to prepare neurologists for advanced practice in stroke and cerebrovascular care. Fellows gain hands-on experience managing acute and long-term vascular conditions while building expertise through clinical care, research, education and quality improvement. With over 300 stroke admissions annually, a busy consult service and a strong outpatient program, fellows train in a high-volume academic environment.

Fellows rotate through stroke codes, neurocritical care consultations, inpatient and outpatient vascular neurology, teleneurology and vascular imaging. They also participate in scholarly projects, including clinical research, quality improvement and teaching initiatives. Faculty provide mentorship and guidance to help fellows grow as skilled clinicians and future leaders in vascular neurology.

Program highlights include:

  • One fellowship slot per year (12-month program through NRMP match)
  • Clinical experience in acute stroke, neurocritical care, outpatient vascular neurology and teleneurology
  • Participation in research, quality improvement and teaching projects
  • Supervised night call from home for 3–6 months
  • Competitive salary with vacation, conference support and structured supervision
  • Multidisciplinary faculty across neurology, neurocritical care, neuroradiology, vascular surgery and rehabilitation
