How to apply to the Tufts Medicine Otolaryngology Residency Program
We participate in the ERAS application process and the NRMP match. In 2026, 2 residents will be accepted into the 5-year program.
We begin reviewing applications in October and send interview invitations on a rolling basis. Interviews typically take place on two dates—one in December and one in January.
Application tips:
- Submit your application through ERAS
- Aim for strong USMLE Step 2 scores—typically 230 or higher. You must pass both Step 2 CK and CS before Match Day
- Academic excellence matters. We look for honors in multiple rotations, especially surgical ones
- AOA membership is helpful, but not required
- We value community service and humanitarian work
- Research experience is a plus, but not essential
- Publications, posters or oral presentations at conferences are encouraged
- While not required, we recommend spending time rotating with our team
