Otolaryngology – Head + Neck Surgery Residency Program - About Our Program

About Our Program

Build your ENT career with Tufts Medical Center’s residency program

Our Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Residency at Tufts Medical Center is a five-year ACGME-accredited training program that prepares residents for a successful career in academic medicine or private practice. We focus on providing comprehensive hands-on surgical experience combined with strong mentorship and research opportunities.

Residents rotate through Tufts Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital, gaining exposure to a broad spectrum of adult and pediatric ENT conditions. Our program emphasizes early operative experience and progressive responsibility, helping residents build confidence and expertise across all ENT subspecialties.

We foster leadership development and resident autonomy, preparing you to lead clinical teams and manage complex cases. Residents have opportunities to present research at national conferences and publish scholarly work with faculty mentors. Our high surgical volume and diverse case mix provide exceptional preparation for any practice environment.

Training occurs within a multidisciplinary care setting, encouraging collaboration across specialties to optimize patient outcomes. We also prioritize resident wellness and cultivate a supportive collegial community.

With a dedicated research block during the third year and a supportive, close-knit culture, we ensure every resident has the resources and guidance needed to grow as both a skilled surgeon and a thoughtful scholar.
