Explore the Neurosurgery Sub-Internship + Clerkship at Tufts Medical Center
Our neurosurgery sub-internship and clerkship give medical students the chance to be part of a high-volume academic neurosurgery service. You’ll work alongside expert faculty and residents, build core clinical skills and take part in every aspect of neurosurgical care—from the emergency room to the operating room.
During the rotation, students will:
- Perform inpatient consultations
- Evaluate patients in the emergency room
- See patients in the outpatient clinic
- Round on the inpatient service
- Scrub in for surgical cases
Students also join our education conferences, including journal club, neuroanatomy review, neurosurgery case presentations and neurosurgery and neuroradiology case conferences. At the end of the rotation, each student gives a brief presentation on a neurosurgical topic of their choice.
