Neurology Residency - Clinical Observership

Clinical Observership
The Tufts Medical Center Neurology Clinical Observership Program gives students and clinicians a structured, supervised way to explore the clinical environment at Tufts Medical Center. The program supports our broader academic mission while balancing the needs of educators, learners and the people we care for.

Observers can include undergraduates, medical students and licensed clinicians. While observers don’t provide care or access medical records, they can shadow experienced clinicians and watch how care is delivered in real time. The observership lasts 1–4 weeks and follows strict eligibility and supervision guidelines. Because space is limited, selection is competitive and takes 60–90 days.

Eligibility and guidelines:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have completed one semester of college
  • No academic credit, compensation or recommendation letters offered
  • No direct patient care or access to charts allowed
  • Must be supervised by a physician at all times
  • Limited spots available and not guaranteed

If you’re interested, email TuftsNeurologyObservership@tuftsmedicine.org between 90 and 60 days before your preferred start date. Messages outside this window will not be reviewed.
