Tufts Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program actively supports and promotes resident scholarly activity through a variety of structured opportunities and resources, including:
- Division chief noon conferences: Presentations by Division Chiefs and leaders of research institutes highlighting ongoing research in their respective areas.
- Research advice: A noon conference by residents providing advice on how they found their scholarly focus, identified mentors and managed their projects.
- GME Scholarly Work Week (GLOW): A dedicated week celebrating residents and fellows research and scholarly projects featuring poster presentations, oral abstracts and Grand Rounds.
- Research electives: Protected elective time for residents to focus on research, quality improvement or medical education projects.
- Conference support: Financial assistance is available for residents presenting at conferences.
- Dedicated core faculty: Dedicated core faculty in cardiology and gastroenterology to assist residents in identifying mentors and engaging in meaningful scholarly work.
