Hematopathology fellowship research + scholarly activity
Fellows are encouraged to take part in at least one research project related to hematopathology during their fellowship. Projects may focus on any relevant area, including diagnostic techniques, molecular pathology, hematologic malignancies, or pediatric hematopathology. Fellows are guided by faculty mentors who help refine research questions, develop study designs, and prepare abstracts and manuscripts.
Fellows have the opportunity to present their work at national pathology or hematology meetings and to publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Research often integrates multidisciplinary collaboration with teams across Tufts Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital, offering exposure to innovative diagnostic tools and technologies.
The department actively supports scholarly activity by providing funds for educational materials, software, and travel to conferences. Additional funding and time off are available for fellows presenting abstracts or invited talks at national meetings, ensuring they can share their work and engage with leaders in the field.
