Hematopathology Fellowship - Affiliations

Hospital Affiliations

Boston Children’s Hospital pediatric hematopathology rotation

During the rotation at Boston Children’s Hospital, fellows gain experience in pediatric hematopathology through a wide range of complex cases. These include bone marrow and tissue biopsies, as well as body fluid analysis for diagnosing and staging hematologic cancers, bone marrow failure syndromes, and inherited blood disorders. Many cases involve germline conditions, allowing fellows to integrate clinical, morphologic and genetic information to reach a diagnosis.

Fellows also interpret flow cytometry studies and correlate results with cytogenetic, DNA, and RNA sequencing data. They participate in multidisciplinary rounds, such as bone marrow failure rounds, and present cases at tumor boards, collaborating closely with oncology and other clinical teams to discuss diagnostic findings and treatment implications.
