Hands-on experience, innovative care, lifelong impact with a gynecologic oncology fellowship in Boston

The Tufts Medicine Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship program prepares future leaders to deliver comprehensive care for people with gynecologic cancers from all backgrounds. Our program equips fellows with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to become board-certified gynecologic oncologists in a safe, supportive and innovative learning environment.

Fellows are fully integrated into the Division of Gynecologic Oncology and gain broad exposure to all aspects of the field—including complex surgical care, systemic therapy, clinical trials and research. Our program emphasizes mentorship, wellness and professional growth, offering a personalized training experience that helps fellows thrive.

Fellowship highlights:

  • Hands-on surgical training: Laparoscopic and robotic procedures, radical hysterectomy, ovarian cancer debulking with HIPEC, bowel and upper abdominal surgery and lymph node procedures
  • Full-scope patient care: Manage surgery, chemotherapy and targeted therapies alongside experienced faculty
  • Research and clinical trials: Join GOG, NRG and SWOG studies that shape the future of gynecologic oncology

Core focuses

Perform laparoscopic and robotic procedures, radical hysterectomy, ovarian cancer debulking with HIPEC, bowel and upper abdominal surgery, and lymph node procedures. Fellows gain confidence in complex surgical decision-making, refine advanced operative techniques and develop the precision and judgment required for high-acuity gynecologic oncology care.

Manage surgery, chemotherapy and targeted therapies alongside experienced gynecologic oncology faculty. Fellows deliver full-scope care to a diverse patient population from Boston and surrounding communities in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, gaining experience in multidisciplinary decision-making and patient-centered oncology care.

Engage in GOG, NRG, and SWOG clinical trials while following a structured research curriculum that spans basic science, clinical trials and large database studies. Fellows receive mentorship throughout their projects, develop critical research skills and contribute to studies that advance the field of gynecologic oncology.
