How to apply to the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program at Tufts Medical Center
We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All applicants must have completed both Step 1 and Step 2 of the USMLE for consideration. Our selection committee reviews your medical school transcript, personal statement, letters of recommendation and USMLE scores.
After interviews, we submit our rank list to the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We do not consider race, sex, religion, ethnic background or national origin in our selection process.
Who is eligible to apply
To be eligible, you must have completed your medical training at one of the following:
- A U.S. or Canadian LCME-accredited medical school
- A U.S. college of osteopathic medicine accredited by the AOA (must include USMLE scores)
- An international medical school, with either a valid ECFMG certificate or a full license to practice medicine in Massachusetts. You may also qualify if you completed a Fifth Pathway program at an LCME-accredited school
Exam requirements
- All applicants must have passed Step 1
- International medical graduates must have passed both Step 1 and Step 2
Visa sponsorship
We sponsor J-1 visas only. We are not able to support H1-B visas.
Required clinical year
Before starting radiology residency, you must complete one clinical year in a program accredited by the ACGME or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. This year may be in internal medicine, surgery, OB/GYN, neurology, family medicine, emergency medicine or a transitional program.
