Dermatology residency in Boston with expert training, hands-on experience + research opportunities
The Dermatology Residency Program at Tufts Medical Center offers a well-rounded and supportive training experience in the heart of downtown Boston. We train future leaders in dermatology who are grounded in clinical excellence, academic scholarship and compassionate care. Our program is ACGME-accredited for 15 resident positions and participates in the NRMP Match.
Residents gain hands-on experience caring for a diverse patient population and managing conditions that span the full spectrum of dermatology. With access to specialty clinics, advanced therapies and research opportunities, our program prepares you for a successful career in academic medicine, private practice or fellowship. You’ll work closely with nationally recognized faculty who are dedicated to mentorship, education and your professional growth.
What sets our program apart
- High-volume clinics with broad exposure to medical, surgical, cosmetic and pediatric dermatology
- Patient diversity, including Asian, African American, Indian, Hispanic and Caucasian populations
- Specialty clinics in infectious disease, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, connective tissue disease, blistering diseases, pediatric dermatology, allergic contact dermatitis and patch testing, high-risk skin cancer, hair disorders, cutaneous effects of chemotherapy and cosmetic dermatology
- On-site access to photodynamic therapy, phototherapy and an infusion center
- Board-certified subspecialists in dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery
- National and international recognition for clinical research in alopecia areata, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, discoid lupus, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and atopic dermatitis
