Hands-on critical care training with expert procedural + clinical education
Experiential learning is the foundation of our Critical Care Fellowship. Our fellows are front and center in patient care—from the medical floor to the emergency room. When a critically ill patient needs attention, our fellows are the first to respond. This integration ensures they collaborate closely with trainees and attending physicians across the entire medical center.
Fellows are encouraged to take ownership of their education by making important bedside decisions. This hands-on approach extends to procedural skills training, which includes bedside ultrasound, right heart catheterizations, pleural procedures, bronchoscopy and endotracheal intubation, among other common ICU interventions.
We firmly believe mentorship is crucial to professional growth. Each fellow is paired with dedicated mentors who provide guidance and support throughout the fellowship.
Our program also offers a robust didactic curriculum with multiple conference series, such as Case Conference, Morbidity and Mortality, Journal Club, Pulmonary Hypertension, Rheumatology-Pulmonary ILD and Pathology Case Conference. Additionally, we host Boston’s city-wide introductory ultrasound course for new first-year trainees.
