How to apply to our anesthesiology critical care medicine fellowship

Applicants must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited residency in anesthesiology to be eligible for our fellowship.

We accept applications through SF Match between November and February 28. Virtual interviews are held from mid-January to March, and offers are extended through SF Match following the official match cycle calendar.

Application requirements

To apply, please submit the following through SF Match:

  • Completed SF Match application
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (including one from your residency program director)
  • USMLE transcripts or equivalent
  • ECFMG certification (if applicable)

Eligibility for international applicants

International applicants are welcome to apply through SF Match. Additional requirements include:

  • Valid ECFMG certification
  • J-1 visa or U.S. permanent resident status

Please note: H-1B visas are not eligible for this fellowship.

Virtual interview process

All interviews are conducted virtually via Zoom. Invited applicants will receive an email through SF Match with available interview dates and times.

If you’re interested in the 2-year combined fellowship in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine and Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology, you must:

  • Submit a supplemental form in SF Match indicating your dual-application status
  • Apply to both programs individually through SF Match
