TeamWalk for CancerCare on Your Terms 2020

TeamWalk, best known as the largest single-day fundraiser in the Merrimack Valley, will once again be held on Your Terms, Your Turf and Your Time. Any time between May 23 and September 1, 2021, walkers can simply choose when and where they want to walk while following recommended social distancing protocols.

Last year, hundreds of TeamWalk’s loyal supporters gathered their teams together on their terms and raised more than $363,000 to support cancer patients in need along the way.

“We’d rather all be together this spring, but last year showed we can still make a big difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families, even when we’re apart,” said Jody White, President and CEO of Lowell General Hospital. “The needs of these families has never been greater than right now, and every dollar raised will go back to the community.”

TeamWalk for CancerCare has been much more than a one-day fundraising effort for many years thanks to the fun and inventive events held by teams throughout the year. Some of the signature events like CatWalk for Cancer Care will be back this year, but done virtually to protect supporters and cancer survivors.

Since 2000, TeamWalk has raised more than $13 million and touched the lives of more than 34,000 cancer patients and their families. Every dollar raised goes to help patients at the Cancer Center at Lowell General Hospital and throughout the Merrimack Valley with the things insurance doesn’t cover – an overdue bill, a prescription co-pay, a wig, transportation to and from treatment or integrative therapies to aid recovery.

This year’s TeamWalk Chairman will once again be Carrie Meikle of Chelmsford, a breast cancer survivor who received care at Lowell General Hospital’s Cancer Center. Elite Sponsors are Enterprise Bank, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union and the Thibault Foundation.
