On May 4, 2025, Lowell General Hospital’s 26th annual TeamWalk for CancerCare raised over $570,000 and united our community in a powerful day of hope, compassion and purpose. Every step honors those affected by cancer and reaffirms our commitment to making a meaningful difference.

This year’s event was again hosted by WCVB Channel 5 Chief Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon and WBZ News Radio Traffic Anchor Lori Grande, with Shields Health as Presenting Sponsor.

Since 2000, TeamWalk has raised more than $16 million — and every dollar stays local. The money helps people in our community who are facing cancer. It covers things like rides to treatment, wigs, prosthetics, prescriptions that insurance doesn’t cover, support groups, wellness programs, health screenings and more for families across the region.

TeamWalk helps our friends and neighbors at a time they need our support the most. And to see our community come together—truly to rally forces together as One Team for such an important cause—is a huge inspiration to all of us.

Amy Hoey, President, Lowell General Hospital

Fundraising events for TeamWalk happen throughout the year, and everything collected through September 30 counts towards this year’s goal. To date, TeamWalk has helped more than 42,000 patients, and with the money raised this year, Lowell General Hospital will be able to help many more.

When everyone gives a little bit, it makes a very big difference.
