SRC Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Surgery (COEMIS)

December 3, 2021

In 2021, Lowell General Hospital has achieved accreditation as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC).

This accreditation distinguishes Lowell General from other hospitals by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

Lowell General Hospital met nationally and internationally recognized standards to achieve this accreditation. Not all hospitals seek accreditation, and not all that undergo the rigorous requirements and inspection process are granted accreditation.

Established in 2003, Surgical Review Corporation is a nonprofit, patient safety organization that develops and administers best-in-class accreditation programs for hospitals throughout the world. These programs improve the safety and quality of patient care and lower the overall costs associated with successful treatment.
