Pamela Whelton Named Interim CEO at MelroseWakefield Healthcare

MelroseWakefield Healthcare today announced that Pamela Whelton, former President of South Shore Hospital, will assume the role of interim Chief Executive Officer effective June 14. She will replace Sue Sandberg who is moving to Colorado to be with family.

Whelton is a seasoned healthcare executive with 22 years of leadership experience in community healthcare. During her tenure at South Shore Health, her responsibilities ranged from physician growth and network development to finance and operations, including serving as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Physician and Network Expansion.

Whelton is a leader respected for her collaborative style and passion for community health care. As interim CEO, Whelton will focus on MelroseWakefield Healthcare’s successful achievement of its quality, operational and growth goals.

Tufts Medicine announced today that William (Bill) F. Wyman, MS, FACHE has been appointed President of MelroseWakefield Hospital and Lawrence Memorial Hospital, effective immediately. Wyman has held the same position on an interim basis since October 2024.
