OPTUM® Resource Services Center of Excellence (COE)

Health services leader Optum named Lowell General Hospital’s Center for Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery a Resource Services Center of Excellence (COE) for providing cost-effective, quality health care to patients receiving bariatric surgery and other related services that address the long-term health risks associated with morbid obesity.

The Optum Bariatric Resource Services COE network includes more than 300 programs across the country that provide specialized bariatric nurse case managers who help patients manage co-morbid conditions and make lifestyle changes before and after surgery to encourage successful weight loss and improve the quality of life.
