Nicole Clark Named 2019 ASHP Fellow

MelroseWakefield Healthcare clinical practice and education manager of the pharmacy earns American Society of Health-System Pharmacists recognition.

Nicole Clark, PharmD, MHA, BCPS, FMSHP, clinical practice and education manager of the pharmacy at MelroseWakefield Healthcare, has been named one of 22 Fellows of the American Society of Healthcare-System Pharmacists.

ASHP awarded the title of Fellow in recognition of the excellence achieved in pharmacy practice, according to the organization.

Dr. Clark is currently the vice chair of the ASHP Section of Inpatient Care Practitioners, Educational Steering Committee. She was appointed to the ASHP Council on Education and Workforce Development, serving as Chair 2017-2018. Dr. Clark serves as a Residency Practitioner Surveyor for ASHP Accreditation Services Division, and has initiated and served as program director for both ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program and PGY1/PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration residency program.

Dr. Clark has been involved in Massachusetts Society of Health System Pharmacists (MSHP) for the last nine years, where she led the Annual Meeting, co-chaired the Early Careerist Network and is now serving as President-Elect. She was awarded institutional preceptor of the year for MCPHS University in 2013 and was awarded Fellow status of MSHP in 2018.  Dr. Clark is an adjunct professor at Rivier University in the Education and Nursing Departments.

ASHP members who have achieved FASHP status are eligible for the title through the ASHP Practitioner Recognition Program. Fellows are named if they have successfully demonstrated sustained commitment or contributions to excellence for at least 10 years, contributed to the total body of knowledge in the field, demonstrated active involvement and leadership in ASHP, and have been actively involved in and committed to educating practitioners and others.

Since it was started in 1988, the ASHP Practitioner Recognition Program has recognized 938 Fellows. The 2019 Fellows will be formally recognized June 11, 2019, during the ASHP Summer Meetings and Exhibition in Boston.
