In 2019, the Mother Infant Research Institute was honored at Working Wonders for their progressive work.

MIRI’s work on behalf of mothers and infants was highlighted, along with that of the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) program and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), at Working Wonders, the annual fundraising event for Tufts Medical Center. Sharing the stage with the physicians were pediatric patients and families who had received extraordinary care from this group of dedicated individuals. The event also honored Diana W. Bianchi, MD, current Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and founding Executive Director of the MIRI (2010-2016). Dr. Bianchi received the Ellen M. Zane Award for Visionary Leadership, presented to her by Tufts CEO Emeritus Ellen Zane, a longtime colleague of Bianchi’s.

The event raised $1.3 million dollars.
