MelroseWakefield Hospital Receives “A” From Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades

National safety distinction is the latest of many recent quality recognitions.

MelroseWakefield Hospital which includes Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford has received an “A” from the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade for fall 2023. This national distinction recognizes MelroseWakefield Hospital’s achievements in protecting patients from preventable harm and error in the hospital. The “A” grade is the highest designation bestowed by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety.

“We take great pride in providing safe, high-quality care in all that we do,” said Michael DeLeo, MD, Chief Medical Officer at MelroseWakefield Hospital and Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford. “This latest ‘A’ grade, together with our many other recent quality and safety awards and designations, is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of our staff and providers to keeping our patients safe and well cared for.”

MelroseWakefield Hospital was also recently recognized by US News & World Report as a high-performing hospital in the treatment of heart failure, has been recognized by Healthgrades among America’s 100 Best Hospitals and consistently has members of its medical staff recognized as Top Doctors in Boston magazine.
