MelroseWakefield Healthcare Names Employee of the Year 2021

December 2, 2021

Jessica Cheung, PT, DPT, supervisor for inpatient rehabilitation services was named 2020 Employee of the Year by MelroseWakefield Healthcare at the company’s annual celebration on March 28, 2021.

Jessica, who was also named November Employee of the Month, was selected among the year’s employees who had been named Employee of the Month as determined by their peers. Employee of the Month winners strongly exhibit the organization’s cornerstones for achieving excellence in the areas of people, quality, service, growth and fiscal responsibility. Employee of the Year is the pinnacle recognition among all the Employees of the Month honorees.

“I was shocked when they called my name because I believe all the candidates are more than worthy, especially after this year,” Jessica said of the moment her name was announced during a Zoom broadcast to all employees.

In her role as supervisor, Jessica led and inspired during the COVID-19 pandemic. She helped reinvent the way her team responded to the many challenges posed by the pandemic, while never wavering in providing excellent care.

Jessica’s director, Melissa Roberto, stated that she “could not have been any prouder of who Jessica has become as a leader, a person and a colleague. Jess proved to me, the organization and I think to herself, that she can meet the challenges and perform with strength and compassion.”

Jessica began her career at MelroseWakefield Healthcare as a physical therapy intern in 2009. After transitioning to a full-time position in 2010, she was promoted to supervisor in 2014.

“I have an amazing team and strong mentorship,” said Jessica. “So it’s easy to want to give 110%. I am truly humbled by this honor.”
