MelroseWakefield Healthcare Hospitals Named Among America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades

MelroseWakefield Healthcare hospitals among top 5% in nation for clinical outcomes for fourth consecutive year.

MelroseWakefield Healthcare today announced that its hospitals have been name among America’s 250 Best Hospitals by Healthgrades, the leading online resource for comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. The distinction places MelroseWakefield Hospital and Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford in the top 5% for clinical performance among nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide. This is the fourth consecutive year that both hospitals have achieved the award.

Healthgrades also named the hospitals to America’s 100 Best Hospitals for critical care, gastroenterology care and general surgery.

Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance using objective quality measures including clinical outcomes and patient safety, as well as patient experience that, among many other elements, looks at actual outcomes in comparison to predicted outcomes. Then a star-rating system is assigned as to whether the hospital performed statistically better than, the same as, or worse than the predicted outcome.
