MelroseWakefield Hospital offers lactation support to help you feel confident feeding your baby. Whether you’re looking for community support or more personal help, our lactation team is here for you.
Lactation Support at MelroseWakefield Hospital
- Weekly support groups: Mondays: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm; Wednesdays: 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
- One-on-one lactation appointments: available 5 days a week; morning, afternoon, and weekend hours available
- Parents who are breastfeeding, pumping, or combination feeding and want support, guidance, or reassurance
- Families with questions or challenges around feeding their baby, from the early days through returning to work
- Weekly support groups: Free
- One-on-one lactation appointments: Billed through insurance
Lactation Support Group

Our lactation support groups are a welcoming place to ask questions, get guidance and connect with other parents. Groups are led by a lactation nurse and are open to anyone who wants support with breastfeeding or pumping.

One-on-One Lactation Appointments
By appointment | Billed through insurance
If you need more personal support, we also offer private, one-on-one lactation appointments with a lactation nurse. Appointments are available five days a week, with morning, afternoon and weekend hours, and are covered by insurance.
We can help with:
- Latch and positioning
- Weighted feeds and baby weight checks
- Tongue ties and feeding challenges
- Baby weight gain concerns
- Bottle refusal or nursing strikes
- Milk supply questions
- Weaning
- Breast pump help
- Getting ready to return to work
