How fellows build teaching skills in the endocrinology fellowship
Teaching is an important part of your growth during the fellowship. At Tufts Medical Center, you’ll have opportunities to teach medical students, residents and even your peers. Whether you're leading case discussions or mentoring trainees, you’ll build skills that prepare you to become a thoughtful, effective educator in any setting.
This aspect of the program is highly important to Fellows who plan an academic career. Fellows in the Program:
- Function as preceptors in the Tufts University School of Medicine (TUSM) physical diagnosis course for first-year medical students (shared among first-year Fellows)
- Function as group leaders in discussion groups in the TUSM II pathophysiology course (a three-week course in April and May)
- Participate in the teaching of medical residents and students as they rotate through the Endocrinology Service.
