Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship Program - About Our Program

About Our Program

Comprehensive fellowship in developmental-behavioral pediatrics at Tufts Medical Center

The Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship at Tufts Medicine–Boston Children’s Hospital is based at the Center for Children with Special Needs (CCSN). Our program continues a rich legacy of mission and innovation that dates back to the 19th century, when Tufts Medical Center began as a hospital ship providing care and fresh air to children in need.

While the ship is no longer part of our story, our commitment to whole-child and family-centered care remains at the heart of everything we do.

Developmental-behavioral pediatrics is a fascinating and growing field that explores how a child’s development and well-being are shaped by many factors — including family, community, school, culture and society. At CCSN, we embrace a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with social work, speech and language therapy, psychiatry, psychology, genetics, physiatry and other specialties to provide comprehensive care.

Our fellowship offers a collaborative and supportive learning environment. Fellows join a team of passionate faculty and trainees from diverse backgrounds, gaining skills in assessment, diagnosis, research and leadership. We emphasize curiosity, kindness and family partnership as core values.

The program is accredited by ACGME and is designed to prepare fellows for rewarding careers in clinical practice, research, education and advocacy. Fellows have the opportunity to pursue projects that inspire them, learn from families and colleagues and build a strong foundation for leadership in developmental-behavioral pediatrics.

Our commitment to training future leaders in developmental-behavioral pediatrics

At Tufts Medical Center, our interprofessional training program prepares future leaders in pediatric neurodevelopmental care to become compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable clinicians, advocates and scholars.

  • We celebrate the unique backgrounds and experiences each trainee brings to our program.
  • We foster professional growth through personalized mentorship, collaborative learning and shared problem-solving in a truly interdisciplinary environment.
