Overview

We encourage eligible volunteers to learn about opportunities to participate in this valued tradition. When you join a clinical trial, you not only benefit personally by gaining access to new and investigational therapies not available elsewhere, but you also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping other patients by advancing our knowledge of dermatologic conditions and their treatment. Additionally, you will receive free medical exams, tests, medications and other care while you are in a trial—no insurance is needed. You may even be compensated for your time and assistance.

And we don’t abandon you after the study ends: Most research volunteers become permanent patients of the Department of Dermatology. We are grateful for your generosity, and always view you as a person, not a research subject.

We have ongoing clinical trials in atopic dermatitis/eczema, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, hidradenitis suppurativa, alopecia areata and vitiligo. To learn more about the Dermatology Research Unit, please call Nicole Dumont at 617.636.7462 or email nicole.donovan@tuftsmedicine.org.
