We are disappointed to share that despite our best efforts Cigna health insurance may no longer cover services its members receive at Tufts Medicine beginning January 1, 2024.
This change would affect access to care patients receive at Tufts Medical Center, Lowell General Hospital, MelroseWakefield Hospital and nearly 2,000 physicians in the Tufts Medicine Integrated Network.
We will continue to talk with Cigna and try our very best to reach an agreement. If Cigna is not willing to reach an agreement, we can help with options, including:
- How to switch to other health insurance plans that are in network for Tufts Medicine
- How to locate another healthcare service or physician
If you would like to express your frustration to Cigna and encourage them to include you Tufts Medicine physician, please call the phone number on the back of your Cigna insurance card.
There is information on this website to help you, and we have personnel available to discuss your situation at 1-855-9-KeepMD (1-855-953-3763), Monday – Friday 7 am – 8 pm, Saturday 9 am – 1 pm. You can also reach Cigna at the member services number on your insurance card.
We are extremely sorry that Cigna has put us all in this difficult position.
Please note, this change does not apply to the Tufts Health Plan Carelink plan. If your membership card indicates Tufts Health Plan Carelink, and you're planning to continue that coverage in 2024, you can disregard this letter.
