During Nurses Week each year, Tufts Medical Center honors excellence in nursing with an awards ceremony and reception. Nurses are nominated by their peers, leadership and patients, with a committee choosing the recipients. We are fortunate to have generous donors who sponsor two very special awards: The Ryan Compassionate Care Award and the Edward and Sylvia Jaye Excellence in Nursing Clinical Practice Award.

Using the IOWA Model of Evidence Based Practice and the Nursing Professional Practice Model, the pathway for nurse advancement begins at orientation and extends throughout employment.

The Novice Nurse Training Program at Tufts Medical Center is designed to support newly licensed nurses as they begin their professional careers within a busy academic medical center.

Three North Shore nurses who have spent much of the last year treating COVID-19 patients will get a well-deserved, and coveted, respite this weekend.

On Thursday, May 11, hospital leadership celebrated the accomplishments of our Patient Care Services team at the annual Nursing Excellence Awards held in the Clark Auditorium at the main campus. The event, held during Nurses Week, honors those who exemplify the unwavering commitment to patient care that is a hallmark of the nursing profession. Honorees were nominated for the award by their peers.

The Russell triplets are all nurses at Tufts Medical Center.

Fraternal twins Elizabeth and Katherine Conole were born at Lowell General Hospital and for the past 25 years have done most everything together.

MelroseWakefield Hospital’s Samantha Imbornone, RN gave birth to her daughter in the same unit where she was born and where she and her own mother work.
